The Big Four management consultancies are shifting from being providers of services to becoming drivers of innovation and change, increasingly powered by digital transformation. For PwC, this evolution required more than a change in service offerings. It demanded a fundamental shift in perception, culture and capability, both internally and externally. To achieve this authentically, PwC recognised the need for a physical space that could embody innovation, foster collaboration and deliver measurable results for their clients. The ambition was to create a locally rooted Digital Experience Centre that would tackle the region’s most pressing business challenges and redefine how PwC engaged with its clients.
Solution
Ochre immersed itself in PwC’s innovation processes, analysing functional, strategic and business objectives and mapping them against the needs of their clients. From this work, we developed a set of experience principles that guided every aspect of the concept. Our central idea embraced the contradictions inherent in transformation, combining the agility of a start-up with the credibility of a global brand. We designed a space that could flex to meet diverse user needs. It could host multi-day workshops, support quick problem-solving sessions or provide inspiration in passing. The physical environment was crafted to ebb and flow with its users, while its aesthetics shifted to suit different use cases, from corporate boardrooms to design studios and maker spaces. Every detail was rooted in creating an experience that placed people and their needs at the centre.
Result
Even during a phased opening period following lockdown, PwC’s Digital Transformation team achieved exponential revenue growth, surpassing all expectations. The Experience Centre successfully opened new revenue streams and transformed market perceptions of PwC from a traditional service provider to an enabler of innovation. It has become a benchmark for PwC’s future ambitions, demonstrating to their clients the power of experience-driven environment design to inspire change, create impact and deliver tangible business results. Beyond its commercial success, it has become a place where people genuinely enjoy coming together to solve challenges and imagine new possibilities.
