Bank Nizwa was established under the direction of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos as Oman’s first Islamic bank. The ambition was to create more than a financial institution by shaping a brand that could bring Islamic banking into the mainstream and set a new standard for the region. The challenge lay in building everything from the ground up, from the brand positioning to the customer experience, in a way that felt progressive, trusted and relevant both locally and internationally.
Solution
We worked closely with the leadership team to define the brand’s positioning and visual identity, then translated this into a retail experience that launched across three pilot branches. These spaces were designed to feel open, modern and welcoming, helping customers connect with the bank’s values in a tangible way. The same approach shaped the new headquarters in Muscat, where we created an environment that supported collaboration, focus and a strong internal culture. Every detail, from the main public areas to the leadership offices, was considered as part of a coherent and future-facing brand experience.
Result
Bank Nizwa entered the market with clarity and confidence, immediately standing out as a pioneer in Omani banking. The pilot branches provided a new kind of retail experience, while the headquarters offered employees a space that reflected the values of professionalism and progress. Today, Bank Nizwa is recognised as a leader in Islamic finance, with a brand that continues to grow in step with its influence both in Oman and abroad.
